Windcat Workboats builds and operates a growing fleet of more than 41 offshore crew tenders, mainly in the European offshore wind sector, but also in the oil and gas industry and outside Europe.

Holland Composites builds the lightweight composite deckhouses for WindCat workboats to save weight and fuel. In addition, the composite deckhouses are low maintenance and provide extra comfort for the passengers. Here you can see the composite Deckhouse in the final production phase, almost ready for the paint process.

A few thousand kilograms of weight reduction of a deckhouse not only gives Windcat Workboats the advantage of saving weight and fuel, but also reduces the top weight on their boats resulting in a more stable boat (less movement at sea means less seasickness for the crew and passengers ). In addition, the composite walls provide a quieter cabin thanks to the sound-absorbing properties of composite.

Another big advantage is the fact that our composite deckhouses are also corrosion-free. This saves a lot of maintenance time and saves money for the shipping company. If a repair is necessary in a highly unlikely event, welding is not necessary. So no chance of a fire hazard, which increases safety on board, and that is always good at sea.
