Specifics: A maintenance-free translucent composite Raficlad façade in which the bark of a plane tree served as inspiration for Arie Blokland of GAJ architects.
Architect Arie Blokland of GAJ Architects came up with a refreshing facade in which the bark of a tree served as inspiration. Both the pattern of the composite Raficlad® façade wallpanels and the colors are variegated, which give a beautiful and striking appearance.
The Brede School in Velsen-Noord is one building with multiple functions. It houses primary school De Plataan, community centre De Stek, toddler playgroup De Vlinder and the child care centre.
The library also has a support point in the building, where the municipality of Velsen holds consultations and where the welfare activities of the Welfare Foundation take place. During the day, the pupils are given gym lessons in the gym hall, which is also present, while in the evening various (neighbourhood) sports clubs make use of it.
The building consists of two interwoven buildings each with its own character and atmosphere. One building is adjacent to a residential neighborhood and is stony in character. The other part of the building, which borders a park-like area, has a façade made of semi-transparent composite wallpanels with natural colors.
Development, production, transport and assembly by Holland Composites.
