Details: High-quality pleasure yachts require high-quality components made from the very best materials. The basis of these pilot seats consists of lightweight and extremely strong carbon.

The renowned CoverWorks makes extremely high-quality yacht upholstery for its customers. From complete upholstery in luxury sloops to the complete upholstery on board of Superyachts.

On behalf of a Dutch luxury yacht builder, they have created a completely new design of pilot seats. In addition to the cosmetic design, the construction of the seats was also redesigned. The basis of the pilot seats consists of a combination of carbon and epoxy sandwich, made by Holland Composites.

These materials are manually processed, layer by layer, in a mould by our dedicated laminating experts. The resulting chair shell goes into the autoclave to harden. This hardening process is controlled by temperature and pressure, so that we can guarantee the ultra-strong quality of the chairs.

After a night in the autoclave, the chair base goes to our 5-axis CNC milling machine. This machine accurately mills the remaining edges and frayed areas tight and smooth. Holes are also drilled and milled for the armrests and the chair base. The precision technology of the CNC milling machine ensures that we can always deliver these kinds of serial products with the same quality and finish.

The chair shell is now ready for the final phase at Holland Composites: the spray booth. Here it receives a layer of clear coat, in high gloss or matt. This layer is super strong and shows the fibres of the carbon beautifully.

From here, CoverWorks gets to work. The highly skilled team of upholsterers gives the seats their final, luxurious shape and puts all the detailed finishing touches on them. The combination of the beautiful, soft skai and the tight carbon makes for a tough and chic look of the seats.

The very last step is the installation of the seats in the luxury yachts. Thanks to CoverWorks and Holland Composites, proud boat owners all over the world enjoy extremely high-quality, robust and luxurious seating comfort on the water.
